The Pacific Gull stands atop the craggy rocks keeping a an eye on the surrounding area for food and predators.  This beautfiful bird is seen in many places around Tasmania, this one was seen at Trial Harbour on the west coast.

You never quite know what you are likely to stumble across when walking along the beach. This rather nicely preserved crab was found on the coarse sand of Trial Harbour. Not sure exactly what I like about this portrait of a crab, but it kinda looks friendly to me.
